“Have you ever heard Riggots? They’re the musical equivalent of…. [looks out of the corner of his eye]….a wind turbine.”

Quite a description of the two-piece punk/garage band Riggots by Dan Gott, frontman of The Franceens, before their tourmates’ set that blew everyone backwards in the small curtained upstairs function room at a fairly unassuming pub.

The venue was a strange one: a Tuesday night at a relatively empty public house. Time, then, for a three-band show of loud, raucous music!

First up were Leeds-based Humans as Ornaments, second were the ear-splitting Riggots from Lancashire, and third were The Franceens from York. Granted, there weren’t many people there, but it was a serving of some excellent out-of-the-mainstream music.
