GLOSSY ONIONS PHOTOGRAPHY
Originally from the North-East, I’ve been in Yorkshire for over 15 years now, having lived in Sheffield, York and now Leeds.
I started Glossy Onions in 2013 to couple my loves of live music and photography, retaining links with the music scene in York and meeting some more fantastic people in Leeds and beyond.
Portraits, live music and band promotion shots are my main subjects; I particularly love the enthusiasm and energy of up-and-coming bands and performers. I’ve been an in-house live music photographer for a venue in York and have worked for an number of promoters and artists at venues all across Yorkshire.
I’m currently undertaking several community portrait projects in North Leeds, which have involved having a good laugh, and I’m also experimenting with projects in instant and film photography. In short, I love all photo-related projects!
I’m currently a contributor for FMS Magazine. Some of my photos and live music reviews have been featured in York’s One&Other digital magazine, London-based HashMag, Disorder UK culture magazine and the local press, and I have also been privileged enough to be part of the Galtres Festival and Live at Leeds 2014, 2015 and 2016 photo teams. I recently shot at Iceland Airwaves festival in Reykjavik and will be undertaking some photojournalism there again in 2017.
I set up Glossy Onions Photography in 2013 as a portfolio for my work. I hope you enjoy the pictures!
